A pair of Victorian shell cameo brooches. The larger, oval brooch features a carved female profile in white relief against an orange-brown conch shell background, depicting a figure in classical or neoclassical style. It is set in an ornate, gold-toned metal frame with a leaf-like border. The reverse is fitted with a C-clasp pin mechanism and an attached safety chain. The smaller, oval brooch similarly features a carved female profile in white relief against an orange-brown conch shell background. It is set in a simpler, gold-toned frame with a beaded edge, and its reverse also has a C-clasp pin mechanism. No visible text or maker’s marks are present on either brooch.
