An ASLEF Doncaster Centenary Commemorative Medal, dated 1980. Crafted from a silver-toned metal, this modern commemorative medal is presented in a clear plastic capsule within a hinged, gold-colored, velvet-lined box. The obverse features the text “DONCASTER” and “PROGRESS” above a central emblem, flanked by “1980” on both sides. The reverse displays a detailed illustration of a steam locomotive and tender, identified as “GNR STIRLING SINGLE 4-2-2 No. 600,” accompanied by an additional small wagon. This side is encircled by the inscription “LOCOMOTIVE ENGINEERS & FIREMEN ASSOCIATED SOCIETY,” with further text reading “100 YEARS” and “BROTHERS IN UNITY.”
