An ASLEF Doncaster Centenary Medallion, commemorating the period 1880-1980. This modern commemorative medal is crafted from a silver-toned metal, presented within a clear plastic capsule, and housed in its original hinged, rectangular presentation box. The box features a green exterior, a cream satin-lined lid, and a maroon velvet-lined base. The obverse of the medal displays the dates “1880” and “1980”, an emblem with the text “MASTERS OF PROGRESS”, and “DONCASTER” inscribed below. The reverse features two distinct locomotive designs, further marked “1880 – 1980” and “100 YEARS”, encircled by text that reads “ASSOCIATED SOCIETY OF LOCOMOTIVE ENGINEERS AND FIREMEN” at the top, “UNITY IS STRENGTH” centrally, and “SINGLE-LEVER ASSN. OF LOCOMOTIVE ENGINEERS & FIREMEN” along the bottom.
