A crucifix, consisting of a dark, patinated metal corpus of Christ affixed to a smooth, medium-brown wooden cross. The corpus depicts Christ with outstretched arms, wearing a crown of thorns and a draped perizonium. Above Christ’s head, a small, scrolled metal plaque, matching the corpus’s material and patina, bears the inscription “INRI,” which translates from Latin as “Iesus Nazarenus, Rex Iudaeorum” (Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews). At the foot of the cross, another small metal appliqué features a skull and crossbones motif.
