A French Napoleon III marquetry box, likely a stationery or desk box, crafted from highly polished dark wood. Its lid features an elaborate marquetry crest depicting a crown above a shield with a prominent diamond pattern.
Accompanying this is an older utilitarian dark wooden box, open to reveal numerous metal dip pen nibs, several pen holders, and various fountain pens, some stored in cardboard sleeves. A paper within this box bears the partially visible text, “To the ‘Master, the latest.”
The third item is a smaller, more modern box constructed with a lighter wood frame and a pink velvet lining. The interior of its lid is inscribed with “Cap Tin” in script above “Sorrento.” Inside this box are documents with partially visible text including “FESTINA” and “Quarta.”
