A vintage Mele two-tiered jewelry box, likely dating from the mid-20th century or later. The rectangular box features a black textured exterior, possibly faux leather or embossed paper, with brass-toned hinges and a front clasp. The interior is lined with red velvet-like material, and the lid is adorned with a gilded rococo-style decorative border. The box contains a diverse collection of costume jewelry, including multi-strand faux peach pearl necklaces, blue and green beaded necklaces, a substantial dark-toned metal bracelet, several bangles, and various brooches and pins set with faceted red, purple, and blue stones or rhinestones. Visible markings include yellow stickers with “3921” on the top and front, and a white oval sticker with “24035” on the side.
