A rectangular lidded box, likely of East Asian origin, crafted from brass. The lid features an engraved landscape scene depicting mountains, a structure, and water, bordered by prominent Chinese calligraphic characters. These characters translate to auspicious phrases including “大吉大利” (Great auspiciousness and great prosperity), “長命富貴” (Long life, wealth, and honor), “向來大吉” (Always very auspicious), and the character “宜” (Suitable/Appropriate). The interior is similarly tarnished, with a small piece of dark string or thread present.
