Another Great Auction from Doncaster Auction Centre, including Jewellery, Collectibles, Vintage, Retro, A Real Eclectic Mix
A small, elongated hammered copper dish or tray, characteristic of artisan or studio craft from the mid-20th century, likely of Israeli origin. The piece features applied brass or bronze relief panels on both the top and bottom. The upper panel depicts festive figures and a barrel, alongside the Hebrew text ‘מזל טוב’ (Mazal Tov, meaning Good Luck/Congratulations). The lower panel portrays additional celebratory figures with musical instruments and a barrel, reinforcing the Judaica-themed or festive scene. The style is consistent with Israeli studio craft from the period, similar to works attributed to Margit Tevan or the Pal-Bell company.
