Another Great Auction from Doncaster Auction Centre, including Jewellery, Collectibles, Vintage, Retro, A Real Eclectic Mix
A pair of Chinese Famille Rose porcelain ginger jars. Each jar features a domed lid surmounted by a stylized Foo Dog finial, adorned with floral patterns and gold gilt accents. The body of the left jar is decorated with figures in traditional attire within a landscape featuring a flowering tree. The right jar displays an elaborate design of phoenix-like birds amidst trees and extensive floral motifs. The base of one jar bears a red four-character seal mark reading “乾隆年製” (Qiánlóng Nián Zhì), translating to “Made during the Qianlong Reign,” which is a common apocryphal mark found on later pieces. Both jars bear white inventory stickers marked “3928.”
