Another Great Auction from Doncaster Auction Centre, including Jewellery, Collectibles, Vintage, Retro, A Real Eclectic Mix
This lot presents a varied collection of vintage decorative and game items. Included is a clear pressed glass pitcher with a red ribbon and a coordinating clear pressed glass cake stand on a pedestal, marked with a “3924” sticker. Also present is a small black lacquered wood box, possibly Japanese, featuring mother-of-pearl inlay depicting an Asian landscape with Mount Fuji, a pagoda, and a bridge. A ruby red art glass vase or small decanter is part of the assortment. Completing the collection are a pair of small metal scissors and four vintage card game items: a red “CASTELLA PLAYING CARDS” box (“Produced in Great Britain, Two Jokers”), a yellow “Bobs Y’r Uncle” New Card Game box (“A riot of fun and laughter”), a rigid gold-toned card box containing red and black striped cards, and a dark green “ANIMAL GRAB” card game box, depicting an owl and stating “An interesting and amusing round game, Containing Fifty-Two Cards, Thos. De La Rue & Co., 110, Bunhill Row, London.”
