Another Great Auction from Doncaster Auction Centre, including Jewellery, Collectibles, Vintage, Retro, A Real Eclectic Mix
An antique men’s leather travel shaving case, dating to the late 19th or early 20th century, presented alongside a diverse collection of related accessories. The large, open burgundy leather dressing case features a red leather-lined interior, fitted with several glass bottles (some with metal caps), and metal containers, alongside what appear to be straight razors. Accompanying this are various smaller brown leather cases or pouches, one containing a brush, and others with strap or buckle closures. The collection also features assorted silver-toned metalware, including two miniature pails (one with a coin slot), several lidded rectangular and oval containers, and an ornate lidded glass or crystal jar. Additional items include a round wooden plaque with a domed glass covering a miniature landscape print, two small tools with wooden handles, a dark carved wooden object, a dark rectangular block (possibly a strop or sharpening stone), a distinct flat metal tool, and a large glass dome paperweight with an internal design. Materials observed are primarily leather, glass, wood, and silver-toned metal. No legible manufacturer’s marks or translatable text are visible.
