A contemporary allegorical watercolor painting on paper by Louis (Early 21st Century), titled ‘The Liberation of Iraq by the Coalition Forces from Dictator Saddam Hussein around Good Friday 2003,’ as indicated by an attached label on the reverse. The artwork depicts a somber, politically charged scene featuring a figure carrying a cross fashioned from various symbols, set against a backdrop of smoke and light rays. In the distance, three flag-adorned crosses are visible on a hill, with flags including the Union Jack and the US flag. The artist’s signature, ‘Louis,’ is visible in the lower right of the painting.
