This antique decorative metal fireplace fender or hearth trim is likely crafted from brass or bronze, exhibiting a warm, aged patination with notable green verdigris in recesses and along decorative elements. The style is characterized by a central ornate cartouche flanked by scrolling motifs and geometric patterns on the main body, and robustly curved, textured ends.
