Another New Auction
A Victorian silver love token brooch, fashioned from a repurposed oval-shaped coin. The front features an elaborately stylized, intertwined monogram, possibly “JB” or “BJ”, set within a decorative shield-like motif and encircled by a textured foliate border. The reverse reveals a hinged C-clasp pin mechanism attached to the coin, which is clearly dated “1887” and inscribed “BRITT. REG:” (Britanniarum Regina – Queen of the Britains) and “FID. DEF.” (Fidei Defensor – Defender of the Faith), surrounding British royal arms.
