Another New Auction
A group of three hand-painted glazed ceramic anthropomorphic animal figurines depicting characters from Beatrix Potter’s stories, comprising two by Royal Albert and one by Beswick. The Royal Albert figures include “Alderman Ptolemy” (a turtle) and “Tommy Brock” (a badger), both dressed in period attire. These are marked on their bases “ROYAL ALBERT ENGLAND” along with “BEATRIX POTTER’S™,” “© F. Warne & Co. Ltd.” (dated 1972 for Alderman Ptolemy, 1985 for Tommy Brock), and “© 1988 ROYAL ALBERT LTD.” The Beswick figure is “Mr. Benjamin Bunny” (a rabbit), also in period attire, and is marked “BESWICK ENGLAND” with “BEATRIX POTTER’S™” and “© F. Warne & Co. Ltd. 1985.”
