Another New Auction
A group of three glazed ceramic figurines depicting anthropomorphic animal characters from Beatrix Potter’s stories. The lot includes ‘Squirrel Nutkin’ and ‘Goody & Timmy Tiptoes,’ both by Beswick England, with copyright dates of 1948 and 1986 respectively. ‘Squirrel Nutkin’ depicts a squirrel holding a nut, and ‘Goody & Timmy Tiptoes’ features two hedgehogs under a green umbrella, the latter also bearing a red ‘X’ mark. The third figurine, ‘Mr Jackson,’ is by Royal Albert England, bearing a crown logo and copyright dates of 1974 and 1989, and depicts a frog seated on a bench, also marked with a black ‘2’. All figures are rendered in a detailed, illustrative, and whimsical style with vibrant colors.
