Another New Auction
A group of three gold-toned commemorative medallions, each enclosed in a clear plastic protective capsule. One medallion features a purple enamel heart with a profile bust and the text “PURPLE HEART 1782-1932.” Its reverse side is designed for engraving, marked “MERIT,” “AWARDED TO,” “BRANCH OF SERVICE,” and “DATE.” A second medallion displays a prominent gold cross over an American flag motif, inscribed “CIMETIÈRE AMÉRICAIN” (American Cemetery), with further text on the cross reading “EN HUI REPOSE 9387 SOLDATS EN ARMEE ET DU GUERRE (1917-1918 / 1941-1945).” Its reverse depicts a soldier saluting an American flag with the text “GOD BLESS OUR HEROES” and “6.6.1944.” The third medallion, identified as an Operation Desert Storm Veteran Challenge Coin, showcases a map of Kuwait with text “OPERATION DESERT STORM VETERAN” and “1990-1991.” Its reverse is inscribed “HOORAY FOR HEROES – 2016” and illustrates military aircraft, a tank, and a series of ribbons including the flags of Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and a Palestinian-like flag.
