Another New Auction
A glazed ceramic sculptural vessel or decorative planter, characteristic of the Art Nouveau style, dating to the late 19th to early 20th century. The piece features a relief-molded bust of a languid female figure with flowing hair, emerging from a naturalistic setting of large leaves, a lily pad, a flower, and cattails. It exhibits a muted color palette of greens, browns, and flesh tones. The reverse features an impressed manufacturer’s mark, partially decipherable as “GEDR” and likely an abbreviation for “GESETZLICH GESCHÜTZT” (legally protected/registered), indicating a German or Austrian origin.
