Another New Auction
A 2002 Great Britain Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Five Pound Crown, presented in its original purple paper/cardboard folio. The main silver-toned coin features a crowned profile portrait of Queen Elizabeth II and the inscription “FIVE POUNDS.” The insert describes the portrait as “A SUPERB PORTRAIT OF THE QUEEN IN ROBES AND DIADEM… THE WORK OF THE ARTIST WHO CREATED THE ROYAL PORTRAIT APPROVED FOR THE CIRCULATING COINS OF THE UNITED KINGDOM FROM 1998.” The outer folio is prominently marked “HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN’S GOLDEN JUBILEE UNITED KINGDOM CROWN.” An accompanying pictorial booklet displays “1987” alongside other photographs of the Queen, likely referring to the date of a depicted event rather than the coin’s issue year.
