Another New Auction
A large collection of British mixed coinage, comprising approximately 100 metallic coins, predominantly silver-colored with some darker patination, displayed in a dark blue velvet-lined tray with individual compartments. The coins mostly feature effigies of British monarchs, including Queen Victoria, King George V, King George VI, and Queen Elizabeth II, suggesting a period spanning from the late 19th to mid-20th century. Visible inscriptions include “DEI GRATIA,” “REX,” “REGINA,” “FID: DEF:” (Fidei Defensor/Defender of the Faith), “BRITT: OMN:” (of all the Britains), “IND: IMP.” (Emperor of India), and denominations such as “ONE SHILLING,” “HALF CROWN,” “FLORIN,” “SIX PENCE,” and “THREE PENCE.” One coin explicitly mentions “EAST AFRICA.” Various dates, generally from the late 1800s to the 1960s, are visible.
