A collection of fourteen British .500 silver shilling coins. Each coin features a crowned lion standing on a crown on one side, with the denomination ‘ONE SHILLING’ inscribed below. The upper periphery bears the Latin inscription ‘FID. DEF. IND. IMP.’ (Defender of the Faith, Emperor of India). Visible dates range from the mid-1930s to the late 1940s, including examples from 1935, 1938, 1940, 1942, and 1947. These coins are consistent with the pre-1947 period of .500 silver content for British coinage.
