Another New Auction
This lot comprises two bound volumes. The first is The Boys’ Own Annual, identified as Volume 14, published in 1892 by Leisure Hour Office, London. It displays a decorative Victorian-era title page with the publisher’s details “LONDON. LEISURE HOUR OFFICE 56 PATERNOSTER ROW” and the Latin motto “Quidquid agunt pueri nostri farrago libelli.” An adjacent open page features a detailed black and white illustration of a large feline, possibly a tiger, in a natural setting. The second item is a dark, likely cloth-bound portfolio, with gilt lettering on the cover reading “PORTFOLIO OF PHOTOGRAPHS OF FAMOUS CITIES, SCENES & PAINTINGS.” Both volumes are consistent with a late 19th to early 20th-century period.
