Another New Auction
An early 19th-century framed textile sampler, dated 1833. The sampler is hand-embroidered in black thread on a coarse, light brown natural fiber fabric, depicting complete uppercase and lowercase alphabets, numerals (0-9), and various symbols such as an ampersand and a multiplication sign. It is presented under glass in an ornate, dark-finished carved or molded wooden frame featuring a decorative floral and foliate motif.
