Another New Auction
A substantial collection of vintage postcards and photographic prints, accompanied by a hardbound photo album. The postcards, primarily sepia-toned, black and white, and some hand-colored, depict a wide range of British landmarks, including numerous cathedrals such as Gloucester, Durham, Salisbury, and Winchester, along with historic buildings and street scenes. Visible captions include “Gloucester Cathedral from Dean’s Garden” and “Llandudno Church and Llyr Gate, Wales, on Sea.” The album contains a series of black and white photographs featuring early 20th-century subjects such as biplanes, early motor vehicles, and formal group gatherings. Notable captions within the album include “The Coronation Procession (The Indian Princes)” and a reference to “The Queen’s Visit, June 1913,” firmly dating the collection to the early to mid-20th century. The items are composed of period paper and cardstock for the prints and a fabric-covered board for the album.
