Another New Auction
Two framed artworks are presented. The first is a Mid-Century print attributed to Colin Paynton, depicting two figures on horseback and a donkey, evocative of Don Quixote and Sancho Panza. The print is signed “FAYON” in the lower right corner, set within a brown wooden frame with a fabric-like inner border. The second piece is a framed print, titled “NELSON’S LAST FAREWELL TO HIS DAUGHTER,” noted as “PAINTED BY LASLETT J. POTT, R.A.” This print also functions as an advertisement for “A: WRIGHT, DRAPER, Family Grocer & Provision Merchant, Boot and Shoe Dealer, EVERTON,” and prominently features calendars for 1899. It is housed in an ornate dark wooden frame with a decorative border, under glass.
