Another New Auction
A diverse collection of model ships, primarily constructed from wood, fabric, and various other materials. The centerpiece is a large, fully rigged sailing warship model, identified by partially visible text on its stand as “HMS VICTORY,” adorned with British flags (Union Jack and White Ensign), and featuring a distinctive yellow and black hull with cream-colored sails. Also included are two smaller sailing vessel models: one with naturalistic brown sails on a stand marked “SMACK,” and another with a prominent reddish-orange sail. A dark grey model of a modern naval warship, resembling a battleship or cruiser, is also present. Additionally, several very small, highly distressed models depicting shipwrecks, characterized by their teal and pink accents and broken structures, are arrayed on the table. A red cardboard kit box, prominently labeled “MARY ROSE” and indicating a “BUILD YOUR OWN” model, details the history of the Tudor warship, which sank in 1545 and was recovered in 1982.
The largest model measures approximately 19 inches in length and 19 inches in height.
