The bookmarks are uniformly housed in individual clear plastic sleeves within a multi-ring binder, indicating a curated collection. They predominantly feature gold-foil or metallic embossed designs and text, encompassing a wide array of themes including British and Irish historical sites such as “Castle Museum York,” “Fountains Abbey,” “Lindisfarne Priory,” “Mount Grace Priory,” and “Aillwee Cave Ireland.” Other themes include natural landscapes and wildlife, exemplified by “Northumberland National Park” with a curlew, and “The Rare Breeds Survival Trust” depicting various animal breeds like “White Park Bull,” “Middle White Pig,” “Hebridean Ram,” “Exmoor Pony,” and “Portland Ram.” Historical figures such as “Grace Darling” and “Marmaduke Huby Abbot of Fountains Abbey (1495-1526)” are also represented, alongside regional attractions like “Laxey Isle of Man” with “Mountain Railway” and “The Waterwheel.” Some bookmarks feature descriptive texts, including one detailing the Lindisfarne Gospels and another explaining the emblem of the Northumberland National Park.
