A pair of British military regimental wall plaques, comprising:
The first, identified as a Devonshire & Dorset Regiment regimental mess wall plaque shield, crafted from a darker-toned wood. It features a central painted shield emblem depicting a castle and sphinx above a green and orange vertical stripe, flanked by text “SEMPER FIDELIS”, “MARABOUT”, and “PRIMUS. IN. INDIS.”. Below this, a separate brass-toned metallic scroll is affixed, bearing the inscription “THE DEVONSHIRE & DORSET REGIMENT”.
The second plaque, crafted from a lighter-toned wood, features a painted regimental crest including a crown, bugle, and rose, with text encircling “1ST BN THE KING’S OWN YORKSHIRE LIGHT INFANTRY” and a lower banner inscribed “CEDE NULLIS”.
