Another New Auction
A Maelzel metronome, crafted in a pyramid shape from light-toned wood, accompanied by its matching removable wooden cover. The metronome’s front features a dark-paneled aperture revealing a brass pendulum with adjustable weights, set against a printed scale displaying Italian tempo markings such as “PRESTO,” “LARGO,” “ADAGIO,” “ANDANTE,” and “ALLEGRO,” with numerical beats per minute from 42 to 208. Two brass winding keys are visible on the side, and the unit rests on four small feet. The separate wooden cover is adorned with a diamond-shaped brass plaque centrally inscribed with “MÉTRONOME MAELZEL,” bordered by the country names “FRANCE,” “ANGLETERRE,” “ALLEMAGNE,” “BELGIQUE,” “HOLLANDE,” and “PARIS.” The metronome is in working order.
