Another New Auction
A two-volume set of “A New Family Bible,” containing the Old and New Testaments, selected from the exposition of the Reverend Matthew Henry, by the Reverend E. Blomfield, published circa 1850. The edition is embellished with fifty engravings, one of which depicts “Samuel praying.” Volume 1 covers Genesis through Song of Solomon (“GEN—S SONG”), and Volume 2 covers Isaiah through Revelation (“ISA—REV”). Publishers noted include George Henry and Co and George Virtue of London. Volume II bears a “KINGSBROOK SCHOOL LIBRARY” stamp with accession number R6080 and classification 220. The books are bound in brown leather or similar material with ribbed spines, dark title labels, and gilt lettering.
