ANOTHER GREAT
This lot comprises a collection of seven British commemorative medals, primarily dating from the late 19th to early 20th centuries. The medals are crafted from both silver-toned and brass/bronze-toned metals. Two of the medals retain worn red, white, and blue striped ribbons, which are secured by a safety pin. The collection features various British monarchs, including Queen Victoria, King Edward VII, King George V, and Queen Mary. Notable events commemorated include King George V’s Silver Jubilee, dated “A.D. 1935” and “1910-1935,” and Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee, marked “DIAMOND JUBILEE YEAR 1897.” One silver-toned medal’s reverse bears an extensive English inscription: “VICTORIA REG & IMP BORN 1819 CROWNED 1838 DIAMOND JUBILEE YEAR 1897 HER WISE & BENEFICENT RULE SCIENCE ART AND LIBERTY HAVE RAPIDLY ADVANCED HER EXAMPLE HAS ALWAYS BLESSED THE PEOPLE OVER WHOM FOR FIFTY YEARS SHE PROSPEROUSLY REIGNED.”
