ANOTHER GREAT
A group of three mid-20th century Safe Driving Awards, likely dating from the 1940s-1960s. Each award features base metal components with green fabric ribbons, comprising stacked rectangular clasps pinned to a ribbon, suspending a decorative medallion or bar. The leftmost award has five clasps marked “1958” through “1962” and a circular medallion reading “SAFE DRIVING COMPETITION,” “ACCIDENT FREE,” “5 YEARS,” and “DRIVERS AWARD,” centered by a red enamel triangle. The middle award includes nine clasps, with visible dates ranging from “1949” to “1957,” and a similar circular medallion for “SAFE DRIVING COMPETITION,” “ACCIDENT FREE,” and “DRIVERS AWARD,” also with a red enamel triangle and “8 YEARS” partially visible. The rightmost award features multiple clasps, some decorated with red enamel stars, and a lower decorative bar prominently displaying a red enamel “20” on a shield-like design. All visible text is in English. Similar examples are often attributed to organizations such as ROSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) or the National Safety Council.
