ANOTHER GREAT
A Civil War Era brass medical suppository mold. This two-part, hinged or clamped brass mold is designed to create six oval-shaped objects simultaneously. Each heavy, rectangular half features six semi-oval depressions that align when clamped together by two prominent knurled screws, forming six complete oval cavities. Six circular holes are also visible along the joined side. Stamped markings include ‘2478’ repeated on multiple ends, ’16Gr’ on one end, and ‘48897’ on a top surface. Two yellow inventory stickers marked ‘7009’ are also present. The utilitarian style suggests a 19th or 20th-century origin.
