ANOTHER GREAT
An American arch-top mantel clock, identified as a ‘Newbury-4 W’ model by the New Haven Clock Co. of New Haven, Conn., U.S.A., likely dating to the mid-20th century. The clock is constructed from dark stained hardwood with a brass bezel and accents. The dial features stylized Art Deco Arabic numerals, brass hands, and three winding apertures, marked “WESTMINSTER CHIMES” and “MADE IN U.S.A.”. The internal brass movement, visible through the hinged rear door, is stamped “NO. 12A,” “MADE IN U.S.A.,” and “NEW HAVEN CLOCK CO.” An attached paper label further identifies it as a “NEWBURY-4 W” model with “GUARANTEE AND DIRECTIONS” for its Westminster chimes.
