An antique wooden box, likely dating to the 19th century, possibly Victorian, constructed with burr wood veneer, likely walnut, and accented with darker wood crossbanding and geometric string inlay. The design features a central hexagonal escutcheon on the front and a matching inlay on the lid, both set with a material resembling mother-of-pearl or bone. It is possibly intended as a dressing or jewelry box.
