The scale face, visible through a clear cover, is marked with measurements from 0 to 1 pound, subdivided in ounces, and bears the text “AVERY,” “CHART MARKED BY 2 DR. DIVISIONS.,” and “TO WEIGH 1 LB.” Below the brand name, it reads “BRITISH REGD. Nº 855.857.” The indicator needle rests near the zero mark.
