A Chinese Camphor Wood Carved Chest. This rectangular wooden box features a hinged lid and extensive, intricate floral and foliate carvings covering all exterior surfaces including the top, front, sides, and a decorative undulating base. The wood exhibits a medium-brown tone with a visible grain. The interior is lined with lighter, unfinished wood. Construction details include brass-toned metal pins securing the panels, a small decorative brass lock plate on the front, and two brass barrel hinges.
