ANOTHER GREAT
A group of three devotional articles, comprising a vintage Sacred Heart of Jesus holy water font, a polychrome-painted ceramic or porcelain bust of the Virgin Mary and Child, and a standing base metal crucifix. The central piece is a wall-mounted plaque featuring a patinated base metal figure of the Sacred Heart of Jesus standing on a small pedestal, affixed to a shaped wooden backing. Although consistently identified in the market as a ‘holy water font,’ this specific example does not feature a basin. To the left is a polychrome-painted ceramic or porcelain bust of the Virgin Mary holding the infant Jesus, accented by a metallic halo. To the right is a standing silver-toned base metal crucifix with a tiered circular base; it prominently features the inscription “INRI” at the top, which translates to “Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews.” All items exhibit a mid-to-late 20th-century style.
