ANOTHER GREAT
A collection of British militaria and ephemera, primarily dating to the mid-20th century, consistent with WWII-era groupings. The lot is housed within a red tartan-patterned tin box. Inside, there is a group of multi-colored fabric ribbons, possibly medal or service ribbons, and a set of “The Secret Seven RULES” cards featuring an “SS” logo, likely related to the popular children’s book series. Also included is a stack of GPO (General Post Office) Greetings Telegram envelopes, golden-toned and marked “GREETINGS TELEGRAM.” One example is addressed to “Mr. & Mrs. Matthew” in “Rossington, Doncaster,” with an unfolded example displaying a colorful royal crest and floral design alongside a handwritten message “Congratulations + loving wishes.” Additionally, the collection comprises three stacks of pictorial trading cards depicting birds, a butterfly, and a vintage red automobile; a group of British coins bearing the effigies of King George V, King George VI, and Queen Elizabeth II (inscriptions include “GEORGIUS V DEI GRA: BRITT: OMN: REX,” “GEORGIVS VI D: G: BR: OMN: REX,” and “ELIZABETH II D.G. REG. F.D.”); and three enamel pins, two shaped as holly sprigs, and one depicting a ‘Golly’ character.
