ANOTHER GREAT
A Neo-Gothic style statuette depicting the Madonna and Child, after the iconography of Notre Dame of Flanders. The piece is crafted from a composite resin or molded polymer, finished with a faux wood grain texture and a warm brown tone, simulating aged timber. The crowned Virgin Mary holds the Christ Child in her left arm, both figures rendered with serene expressions and detailed drapery. It stands on a stepped, polygonal base featuring architectural molding, to which a small shield bearing a rampant lion appliqué is affixed on the front right. The reverse of the base bears partially visible raised text, reading “…MERINI”, suggesting a possible attribution to a maker of that name.
