ANOTHER GREAT
This wooden table or bracket clock features a dark stained or possibly burl-veneered case with a stepped base and a domed top. It is surmounted by a brass handle and four decorative brass finials. The clock’s design, including its moon phase complication and etched brass details, is reminiscent of 18th or 19th-century bracket or mantel clocks. The front panel, which hinges open, includes a glass window revealing an elaborate brass dial plate. The dial features a gilded, ornate central disc with black Roman numerals for hours and an outer silvered chapter ring with Arabic numerals for minutes (5-60), marked with small stars between the minute indicators. Above the main dial is an arched moon phase indicator with a starry blue background, flanked by etched brass depicting allegorical figures. The sides of the case have arched glass panels, and the clock rests on four ornate brass feet. Internally, a brass-plated movement with a bell is visible, marked ‘130-070’.
