ANOTHER GREAT
A pair of vintage German souvenir walking sticks. The staff on the left features a natural, gnarled wooden shaft and a leather loop handle, decorated with several colored metal souvenir badges, one of which reads “RHEIN.” The staff on the right has a smoother wooden shaft, topped with a decorative metal fitting depicting an eagle, and fitted with a metal ferrule at its base. This staff is extensively adorned with approximately 30 enamel or painted metal badges. The uppermost badge clearly reads “DEUTSCHER WANDERVERBAND” (German Hiking Association), with many others denoting German geographical locations and cities including “BROCKEN,” “HARZ,” “RÜGEN,” “SCHWARZWALD,” “BAYERISCHE ALPEN,” “MÜNCHEN,” and “BERLIN.” Both items exhibit a traditional, souvenir-decorated style.
