Another Great Auction
This lot comprises a substantial collection of mid-to-late 20th-century knitting-related ephemera and tools. The paper materials include numerous magazines, instruction manuals such as “Patons Baby Book,” “Lister,” and “Jean Greenhowe’s Knitted Dolls,” and individual knitting patterns, some presented in clear plastic sleeves. Visible brand names include “Sirdar” and “Bond Knitting Systems Ltd.,” with one manual detailing the “Setting up…” of a knitting machine. Accompanying these are various plastic and metal knitting tools, including a blue punch-style tool and a white and blue “Knitmaster” winder. A clear plastic storage box contains what appears to be a metal bed from a knitting machine along with associated accessories. Also present are a small stack of “Smash Hits” magazines and a “Tina Turner” CD/cassette.
