Another Great Auction
An alarm pocket watch style clock, featuring a yellow metal case and a white dial with both Roman and Arabic numerals. Accompanying this are a pair of Royal Doulton ‘Heroes of the Sky’ limited edition collector’s plates from 1993, framed in dark wood. These depict a Lancaster bomber (marked “EMOK”) and a Supermarine Spitfire aircraft (marked “526”) over pastoral scenes. The bomber plate is titled ‘Lancaster Low Overhead’ and both are reproductions of work by Michael Turner. Further included are two bone china tankards: one Coalport ‘The Spitfire Tankard 1986’ featuring aircraft and facsimile signatures of three test pilots (Jeffrey Quill, Humphrey Edwardes Jones, Sammy Wroath), and another with a monochrome Gothic architectural design. The collection is completed by a polished wooden miniature golf bag on wheels, and a red metal and wood model of a San Francisco cable car, marked “POWELL & HYDE S.F.” and “THE SAN FRANCISCO, CAL.”.
