Another Great Auction
A collection of eleven pieces of traditional English bone china decorative and tableware, predominantly adorned with diverse polychrome floral patterns, some featuring birds or fruit, and often finished with gilt accents. The collection comprises three pitchers, a pair of candlesticks, a pair of lidded jars, a small open bowl, a teacup with saucer, and a shallow serving dish.
The pair of candlesticks and the pair of lidded jars are identified as Aynsley ‘Pembroke’ pattern, featuring polychrome birds and floral motifs with gilt trim. One of the three pitchers is a Spode ‘The Cabinet Collection’ piece in the ‘Halston’ pattern, marked ‘REPRODUCED FROM ILLUSTRATIONS IN THE COMPANY ARCHIVES’ and ‘Made in England’. The other two pitchers are visually identical in form and decoration to the Spode ‘Halston’ pattern. The teacup and saucer are Royal Crown Derby in the ‘Olde Avesbury’ pattern (A.73 XL). The shallow serving dish is Royal Worcester in the ‘Arden’ pattern, explicitly marked ‘© 1974 ROYAL WORCESTER’ and ‘MADE IN ENGLAND’. The small open bowl features a polychrome blueberry pattern.
