Another Great Auction
A diverse collection of natural history specimens, comprising various mineral samples, fossils, and seashells. The mineral assortment includes yellow sulfur, green malachite, metallic pyrite, blue lapis lazuli, brown tiger’s eye, polished agate and hematite, raw crystalline pieces, and a desert rose formation. Fossil specimens present include a large grey ammonite, a ribbed bivalve, a sand dollar, and plant imprints on dark shale fragments. The seashells consist of two patterned cowries, one spiraled shell, tiny assorted shells contained within a small box, and a piece of iridescent abalone. Additional items include a dried starfish, a small bottle containing green material, and a patinated metal disc encased in a plastic sleeve, alongside a small black fabric pouch. Several items are presented within clear plastic boxes, one of which is labeled “Mineral ROCKS of Derbyshire,” noting “GALENA for smelting” and “SPAR – for metal, glass, tooth paste etc.”
