Another Great Auction
A John Derian crackle-glazed ceramic bowl, decorated with a colorful naive folk art scene including a red bus marked “TAXI”. The collection further comprises two larger lidded and cylindrical glazed ceramic vessels adorned with grape and leaf motifs; a whimsical cat figurine; a blue and white geometric-patterned ginger jar; and a blue and orange floral-patterned teapot, suggestive of Polish pottery. Additional ceramics include a vibrant, abstractly painted plate; a terracotta-style bowl with a green-glazed interior inscribed “Oliwa” (Polish for Olive), accompanied by two small matching cups; three black and white illustrated ceramic tiles (one with red floral accents); and a small white dish with three painted fish. Also included are three polished natural stone ovoids and a single painted decorative egg, likely wood or ceramic.
