Another Great Auction
A pair of Royal Crown Derby ‘Olde Avesbury’ bone china salt and pepper shakers. Each features a polychrome transfer-printed design depicting stylized pheasants or exotic birds amidst elaborate floral and foliate scrollwork, accented with gilding on the upper rim and neck. The undersides are marked in red with “DERBY. CHINA,” a crowned emblem, “ROYAL ENGLISH BONE CHINA,” and the pattern name “Olde Avesbury” in script, along with “A.73” and Roman numerals “XXXVI”; a small green “E” mark is also present. Both shakers retain their original plastic stoppers.
