Another Great Auction
A pair of ceramic salt and pepper shakers by Paul Cardew, depicting Alice and the White Rabbit from “Alice in Wonderland.” The set is presented new in its original clear plastic and cardboard packaging. The packaging identifies them as “Alice in Wonderland Salt & Pepper Shakers” and notes they are “Designed in England by Cardew Design” and “By Paul Cardew.” The base of the Alice figure features the legible text “DRINK ME.” Both figures are brightly painted, with the White Rabbit holding a pocket watch and Alice posed contemplatively. Consistent with a contemporary, likely late 20th or early 21st-century production.
