A commemorative metal medallion, likely a silver-toned alloy, affixed to a rectangular, dark-stained wooden or slate base. The circular medallion features an outer border inscribed with “SHEFFIELD & DISTRICT ST. JOHN AMBULANCE COMPETITION 1891 – 1991,” interspersed with four St. John crosses. The inner design includes “THE H.L. BROWN CHALLENGE SHIELD” encircling a central emblem, which appears to be the St. John Ambulance crest, with the word “AMBULANCE” also visible within. Dating from 1991, this piece commemorates a centenary.
